recipe 01: orange blossom brioche donuts
a delicate floral upgrade to already amazing brioche donuts
I love the addition of orange blossom water in this recipe. I promise, it doesn’t “taste like a grandma”, which seems to be the idea whenever a floral flavor added to dessert. Which I’m tired of orange blossom, rose and violet getting a bad wrap! Flavor is all about balance after all. The buttermilk in the recipe works to keep the “over-bearing grandma” taste at bay. Have I sold you on these donut yet? Or are you too busy thinking about grandmas?
These donuts are best plain, or tossed in cardamom sugar (add a touch of edible glitter for the ‘ole razzle dazzle). Though, they also pair well with a light vanilla glaze. They’re light with a tender crumb.
The recipe is a two day process, but I promise they’re worth the wait. As the dough slow-proofs over night it develops a better flavor.
P.S. all recipes will always, always, always be in grams! And no, I will not provide you with a by volume conversion of the recipes. Google is a great resource for gram to cup conversions <3333
